Role of Public Administration
That is a La La Land view of the world. Capitalism brought us into the technology age of building one of everything for everybody. That only works if the population is at a low level, but now due to the population growth and the attempt to spread capitalism to the rest of the world – it is destroying the planet. True, a lot more people live a healthier lifestyle and receive an education (i.e. a higher standard of living), but how capitalism burns through Earth's Resources will kill us all.
I quote Stephen Hawking: A rise in ocean temperature would melt the ice-caps, and cause a release of large amounts of carbon dioxide from the ocean floor. Both effects could make our climate like that of Venus, with a temperature of 250 degrees.” And later said…
“We are close to the tipping point where global warming becomes irreversible. Trump’s action could push the Earth over the brink, to become like Venus, with a temperature of two hundred and fifty degrees, and raining sulphuric acid.”
Now ask yourself, why have you not heard these quotes from mainstream media? Because it would prove that economic growth is not a good thing. No one wants to face this truth or reality.
The reality is this: Everything civilization consists of – industry, transportation, electricity, and agriculture – in its current form produces too much CO2 and will lead to our extinction. This is what happens when you try to manufacture one of everything for everybody using these systems. The whole of our lifestyle must change – industry, transportation, electricity, and agriculture.
The only way to save our species is to replace capitalism with a resource-based economy. A system where we build fewer items and we share products on a community grid. Capitalism cannot attend to the whole of the population without killing the planet, but a resource based economy could if we use science, technology, and automation correctly and construct a community grid of sharing.
The Gates Foundation is not relaying intelligent ideas. They are supporting the status quo of economic growth that produces our nice lifestyle, but ultimately bad for the planet. And certainly bad for the human mind as it causes humans to fight over bigger homes, bigger cars, bigger pieces of property, and bigger bank accounts. A sharing society is healthier for the planet and healthier for the human mind. We have the technical capabilities to leave the strife that is built into capitalism, and humans can care for each other through sharing systems of automation as a new civilization. This would also allow us to scientifically manage Earth's resources rather than selling them on the open market – the foundation of harmful economic growth. People, economic growth is not a good thing, per Stephen Hawking.
If humans can build a modern technical society that is destroying Earth, then we can also build a modern technical society that does not destroy Earth. And let's not call it Utopia because there is no such thing. We have way too many diseases to conquer. Gates Foundation, I urge you to research the ideas of The Venus Project. Those ideas need to be expanded and engineered.
Who will be the first billionaire to denounce capitalism and help save the world? I'm hoping for Bill Gates, but he must wake up to reality and leave La La Land. And it would be a good idea to take Warren Buffet with him. Reboot your thought system Bill Gates, it's a blue screen. https://www.thevenusproject.com/
