Role of Public Administration
Please consider the Global Resource Bank Peer-to-Peer Economics of Abundance
6:20 Nomadic tribes behaved like a small family, where you do things for your children with no expectation of reciprocity… Just starting to watch, and will comment on what I heard here. So in tribes I do think there was an expectation of reciprocity. If someone was not contributing, I don't think the tribe would just let it slide… And in larger communities this family scenario falls completely apart. Since folks across town never meet or speak, they have no relation except that they share a large space. So without actually spending daily time face to face, there is no motivator to make you work for that invisible guy that lives across town somewhere.
brilliant thinker, is sous titre possible in French?
Bauwens mentions that he is looking for a model that combines full democratic participation and responsible action. The blob of horizontalism he says has too much talking and not enough action. Maybe one model he should consider would preference voting by policy, he might consider looking at the work of Peter Emerson of the de borda institute. If he is not already aware of it, I think he should have a look.
Wonderful deep overview. I hope this offering from Michel is widely shared. Pointing to it from http://phibetaiota.net tomorrow.
