ALONG WITH IT BUT WE HAVE MUCH COLDER TEMPERATURES ON THE WAY. SO WE’LL TALK ABOUT THAT. MINNESOTA’S 8th CONGRESSIONAL SEAT SAW SEVERAL INCUMBENTS WINNING. WE SAW A BATTLE OF POLITICAL NEWCOMERS, FORMER RADIO HOST JASON LEWIS OVER ANGIE CRAIG FOR KLINE’S OLD JOB. LEWIS WON 47% OF THE VOTE. ANGIE CRAIG 45%. REPUBLICANS HOLD THE SEAT. IN THE 3rd DISTRICT — WELL, BETTY McCOLLOM, KEITH ELLISON, PETERSON ALL RE-ELECTED. ERIK PAULSEN WAS RE-ELECTED. THIS WAS NOT EVEN CLOSE. LOOK AT THE NUMBERS HERE. ERIK PAULSEN WITH 57% OF THE VOTE. TERRI BONOFF WITH 43. THE REPUBLICAN CROWD WAS ENERGIZED. TOOK THE STAGE WITH HIS WIFE AND TWO DAUGHTERS TO THANK SUPPORTERS AND VOLUNTEERS. I’LL JUST TELL YOU I’M READY TO GET BACK TO WORK AND GET SOME THINGS DONE. LET’S BE HONEST, OUR COUNTRY FACES SOME VERY REAL CHALLENGES. PEOPLE DON’T FEEL GOOD ABOUT THE DIRECTION OUR COUNTRY IS GOING. THE ECONOMY ISN’T PERFORMING AS WELL AS IT SHOULD. MANY FAMILIES ARE FACING DIRE STRAITS THANKS TO OBAMA CARE AND WE DESERVE TO GIVE THEM REAL HEALTH REFORM THAT LOWER COSTS AND HELPS THEIR POCKET BOOKS. THIS ELECTION WAS NOT ABOUT ME. IT WAS ABOUT YOU IT. WAS ABOUT FIGHTING FOR THE ISSUES WE ALL CARE ABOUT, PUTTING PEOPLE ABOVE POLITICS, SO THIS ELECTION MAY BE OVER BUT OUR WORK CONTINUES. WE WILL NOT REST. WE’LL KEEP FIGHTING FOR OUR VALUES AND OUR VISION. IT TURNED OUT TO BE A CLOSE RACE IN THE SOUTHERN PART OF THE STATE. TIM WALZ WILL KEEP THE SEAT HE’S HELD SINCE 2006. HE BEAT JIM HAGEDORN AND EASILY BEAT HAGEDORN TWO YEARS AGO. THIS YEAR THE RACE TIGHTENED. VOTERS IN MINNESOTA’S IRON RANGE ELECTED RICK NOLAN OVER REPUBLICAN STEWART MILLS. RICK NOLAN WITH JUST OVER 50% TO STEWART MILLS AT 49.6%. OVERALL SPENDING TOPPED $21 MILLION MAKING IT ONE OF THE MOST EXPENSIVE CONGRESSIONAL RACES. THE HOUSE WILL REMAIN UNDER CONTROL BUT THE OUTCOMFORT SENATE, WE’RE WATCHING IT. DEMOCRATS SUFFERED SOME HEAVY LOSSES IN RURAL DISTRICT THAT IS COULD COST THEM CONTROL. A PAIR OF RACES IN PLYMOUTH AND ST. CLOUD ARE HEADED FOR AN AUTOMATIC RECOUNT. MINNESOTANS SPOKE VERY CLEARLY TONIGHT THAT THEY WANTED TO MAKE SURE THERE WAS A CHECK AND BALANCE ON GOVERNOR DAYTON FOR HIS FINAL TWO YEARS IN OFFICE. SO, ESME, SEEING THE STATE LEGISLATURE, IT LOOKS LIKE THERE’S A GOOD CHANCE REPUBLICANS COULD TAKE CONTROL OF THE HOUSE. I THINK THIS COMES DOWN TO THE BACKLASH OVER THE MNSURE RATE HIKES. PREMIUMS ARE GOING THROUGH THE ROOF AND THEY SAID YOU HAVE TO VOTE AGAINST THE DEMOCRATS. I THINK THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED. THERE WAS A STATE CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT TO VOTE ON. THIS WAS ABOUT LAWMAKERS’
