The first thing that ISIS demanded was
that women had to wear Islamic clothing. We had to wear a headscarf, a ‘dra’… a ‘niqab’ and gloves. And everything, even the shoes,
had to be black. I feel the pain
that my family is still feeling. I brought the niqab from Syria.
I still want to feel the pain, because my mother, sisters, friends
and neighbours still have to wear a niqab. That’s why I still have mine.
